“My practice centres around exploring feelings of stasis that occur in trying to position myself within my own history. Research and writing evolve into a series of experiments that play with a need to contain and define oneself, and the inability to do so, that sharpens and dulls throughout our lives. My work is speculative and references design, while working within the technologies of craftwork, primarily textiles. Through these experiments I am able to renegotiate my semiotic understanding of objects, practices and materials and play with the embalming of new meanings onto them. ”
