Experimental Animation
“You Can’t Stay Here is a risograph printed 2D animated short film that explores lived queer loneliness and connection in Alberta, Canada. It follows an empty figure traversing the contrasting industrial and natural environments of the province. ”

Gabrielle MacIntosh is a Western Canadian experimental animator and printmaker residing in Toronto, Ontario. She attended OCAD University from 2022 to 2026, where she developed an interest in art history, medievalism, mythology and memory. Her work focuses on 2d drawing and printmaking, creating living documentation of the shifting fluidity of nature, identity and becoming. She often delves into personal narratives around nostalgia, Queerness, isolation and growth through different experimental narratives and mediums, often influenced by her background as an illustrator. When Gabrielle is not drawing, she can be found reading, whittling and collecting physical media.
