“My creation begins with scattered memories and things left behind. I don't regard memory as a preserved past, but as a process that is constantly generated in touch and viewing. Those vague, missing and broken are not blanks, but re-entering and connecting entrances. For me, creation is not a record, but a memory that happens again in the present.”

Crystal Wang (b. 2005, Wuhan, China; she/her) is a Toronto-based photographer and visual artist, currently in her fourth year of Photography at OCAD University. Her studies have focused primarily on digital photography, with an emphasis on studio lighting and portraiture. Shaped by her experiences living in both Canada and China, Crystal's work carries a distinct cross-cultural perspective. For her, photography is more than an art form — it is a means of documenting life and preserving the beauty of the ordinary. Her recent practice is rooted in documentary and still life photography, and she aspires to expand into commercial work, including fashion and editorial projects, while continuing to explore the intersection of storytelling and visual aesthetics.
