Hi there! My name’s Leia, and I’m a multidisciplinary creative dipping into art, design, and technology. Recently, I completed my Bachelor of Design at OCAD University’s Digital Futures program where I explored a range of media and themes with Digital Futures’ breadth and flexibility. My journey at OCAD U sparked my interest in Data Visualization; I love bringing data to life through visual communication and delivering information effectively to a viewer. The complexity of details within data fascinates me – there is so much to discover! I’m grateful to have obtained a position at Canadian Heritage as a Knowledge Transfer Officer where I will be working with data and graphic design. My previous work experience includes: working as a Hybrid Pilot Student Collaborator with the Faculty & Curriculum Development Centre at OCAD University; creating and leading a photography workshop for incoming students at the OCAD Student Union; participating in a panel discussion with FeelSpace Curatorial about art in the digital space, and exhibiting my work at various exhibits.Throughout my time at OCAD U’s Digital Futures program, I’ve created digital interactive experiences with code aiming to engage users with enjoyable experiences. My thesis, “Social Orbit”, is an interactive web project that visualizes social interaction data with planetary solar system graphics.
