Animator and film-maker
“Maybe I need to become a little more babe-a-licious...”

Isabelle Stewart is an animator and filmmaker from the small township of Woolwitch Ontario. She currently resides in the city of Toronto, where she studies Experimental Animation at OCADU. Her expanded practice involves live action film, digital and stop motion animation, installation, and experimental storytelling. Her narratives are connected by a curation of collective experience and memory. She approaches nostalgia with satirical reflection, seeking creative means of both criticism and celebration. Her time as a student has been spent learning and practicing techniques from classical cinema and animation. She is passionate about the preservation of artistic practices in media, such as practical effects, puppetry, and physical media design.
