Acrylic painting and drawing
“ My body of work revolves around memory and memorializing natural beings through acrylic paintings and drawings. Using blurred backgrounds to portray the loss of memory, I create new and “impossible” spaces for these beings to exists. Within each piece, I play with saturation, depicting how one can visualize memories; on one hand being bright, vibrant, and surreal, and on the other being dark and desaturated. Each artwork and the contents within correlate to how I remember and look back on each memory of visiting different wildlife spaces. I recall the natural world to be so lively and colourful, while also being chaotic and all merged together, and I try to emulate those memories within each piece, especially now that I view these wildlife spaces so differently. I see my body of the work as a whole as a pavilion of merging memories, and a place to rest tumultuously in the chaos of nature.”
