“As a Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, photographer, and copywriter, my aim is to touch on themes of equity, justice, gender, wealth, identity, humanity, and ephemerality in my practice. I believe art is at the heart of humanity, as creativity is the wellspring from which we draw meaning, innovation, and purpose. My works convey parts of my journey as a student at OCADU as well as my personal battles with mental health, trauma, immigration, and identity as an immigrant in a foreign country at this time in our history. ”

Angélica María Granados López is a Colombian-Canadian cross-disciplinary artist working in printmaking, oil painting, craft making, and textiles, often addressing significant social issues and themes such as aging, immigration, and mental health in her works.
