Sculpture and Installation

“An experimental material based art practice that follows a simple saying, "create from what you know". Delving deeper into family ties and memories, I create work to connect with my family and my culture. Unburying past family histories, and growing closer bonds with people through the process. ”

Nancy Ignoto is a Toronto based artist finishing her BFA in Sculpture and Installation in June 2024. Her art practice stems from the human condition, creating from the shared experiences we all have and can connect with. She follows a material exploration based practice, focusing on metalwork, mold making and needlework. She especially enjoys creating experiences for people, transforming spaces and working in alternative gallery settings. Nancy is currently interested in exploring her Italian heritage and creating artworks that help link her to this loss of culture.
