liane chan -- 陳美瀾 (b.1999, Toronto) is a Cantonese/Canadian visual artist based in Tkaronto and Ajax. Responding to lived experiences of anti-queerness, sinophobia, and food insecurity, their work uses a range of media as tools for self-expression and resistance. Indulging the sinophilic appetite, Chan reveals the interwoven connections between Chinese culture and growing up in Canada. Their work is firmly situated within the context of diasporic Chinese femininity, dictated through tactile expressions of periphery and distance from "Tradition."
