My multicultural upbringing and identity have deeply influenced me into who I am today as a person and on my perspectives as a designer. Everyone has their own lived experiences and I believe those stories have the power connect us as a community. Learning and connecting with the experiences of others helps me understand their behaviours and values which inspires me to be more thoughtful in my design process. I strive to design a more meaningful and seamless experience that resonates with people not just functionally but more on an emotional level. I love being an industrial designer for its ability to be versatile across many disciplines and perspectives in design. Having a diverse range of interests in the act of making, from product design to interactive/sculptural installations to film production, being an industrial design student at OCAD University has allowed me to embrace and connect all these interests instead of choosing one.
