A distillation of the balance between dress and undress, this work calls attention to desire as the focus of queer identity. With the outer layer made up of lace, and the layer underneath composed of sheer fabric, the body is partially revealed and partially hidden. There is a sense of being fully clothed while simultaneously revealing the figure. Queerness is wrapped up in the body, for the divergence from heteronormative desire is often central to defining queerness. Creating garments to cover the body when so much of queerness is about the body turns into a struggle between the clothing and revealing of queer bodies, and in that struggle, we can begin to understand the pivitol role the body plays in queer identity.
