Coral Loop

Tired? Sleepy? Stressed? These feelings can tend to happen through the cause of work. Coral Loop tells the story of Oro the Businessman who happens to be a fish! He's your average worker who heads to work every day for long hours and slowly loses his mind through the stress of never-ending work. One day he completely loses his mind and is overtaken by stress, and ultimately decides to have a change of scenery.

“Coral Loop is a narrative, single-channel 2D animation about a fish businessman named Oro. The main theme I am exploring is the tiredness that people experience as they get older, at times people get so caught up with their responsibilities that they tend to forget to take a break and enjoy themselves. Seeing my parents wake up early every day and come back home all tired goes to show how a job can put a strain on a person. There might be some people and families who can’t handle the stress of their job and other tasks at the same time. The title Coral Loop refers to how Oro lives in the coral reefs and Loop refers to how his life feels like this constant loop of never-ending work from his job. The animation is approximately 3 minutes long and is meant to be projected on a screen. The animation is done entirely on Toon Boom Harmony while much of the editing is done on Adobe After Effects.
