Inherited Connection: A Recollection of Soft Spaces

Reminiscence a91 is a fabrication of a 1990's Xerox machine that is derived from my childhood memory. I was really interested in reconnecting with this specific memory that has recently surfaced after the passing of my grandfather in 2018. It might seem odd that a Xerox photocopier would be something that is associated with memories from my adolescence, but it reminds me of a space and connection I held with my grandfather when I visited his studio. I do, however, believe my work should be taken in on its own merits, without the backstory as to why it exists in this world, in order to be truly appreciated. It's important that whoever views this piece approaches it with a curious mind, engages with it, and creates their own story.Please handle with care, but don’t hesitate to touch.
