“Before this project was officially named, the working title for it was "The Bookworm's Last Stop". It follows, then, that I would pour most of my energy into developing the look and feel of our main character and the main setting of the abandoned bookstore that she so loves. Of course, the circumstance of the zombie apocalypse was also considered and explored, but I wanted to rein in the designs of the zombies as not to distract from the core of the narrative. All designs had to come together to create a cohesive and believable story: nothing so specific or outlandish as to alienate the reader, but with enough individuality to be remembered as well.”
