A human-centred design research project that introduces a comprehensive tool to assist artists and curators in planning and executing new media art installations, focusing on collaborative and modular solution development.

“About the project:This thesis explores the intersection of contemporary art and new media, focusing on the challenges and innovations in exhibition design. It introduces the Modular Exhibition Toolkit (MET), a comprehensive tool designed to assist artists and curators in planning and executing new media art installations.Central to the thesis is the human-centered design approach, emphasizing co-creation workshops for inclusive and practical solution development. Through interviews, autoethnography, and netnography, the research identifies key themes such as spatial influence, technical requirements, audience preferences, and collaborative models.Project results:Employing human-centered design methodologies, the research culminated in creating a comprehensive framework known as the Modular Exhibition Toolkit (MET). This framework encompasses several components such as:- Planning of modular structures- Technical requirements- Inspiration of materials- LEGO models for spatial planning- Installation canvas for strategic organization”
