Where I Learned Virtues

Animation
2022
Where I Learned Virtues is a 2D narrative animation that shares my experience with Baha’i children’s classes and explores the idea of learning virtues. Throughout the animation, I share what I learned in these classes, how they helped me growing up, and the importance of teaching virtues to children such as love, kindness, generosity, truthfulness, forgiveness, and more. Although these classes are geared toward children, the teachings of these classes are applicable to everyone. This animation sheds light on the positive effects that virtues have on individuals and how it's important for everyone to learn and practice putting them into action.

“The animation depicts several characters and different versions of myself growing up, accompanied by abstract animation. Through abstract colours, shapes and brush textures, I try to visualize how I see virtues and how they made me feel growing up.My purpose for creating this project was to share an animation that acts as an introduction to Baha’i children’s classes. I’ve seen and experienced how the classes can positively affect children's behaviour as well as their mindset. All over the world, these classes are safe spaces where children can feel heard and learn how to grow and develop their spiritual knowledge. This animation just skims the surface of what these classes do and teach, so at the end of the animation, there is a link containing more information for anyone interested in learning more.https://www.bahai.org/action/family-life-children/childrens-classes/”
