Arsenal Logo Redesign

Graphic Design
2023
Arsenal are an English football club that plays in the premier league. The club have faced some difficult times during the 21st century with dips in form, poor financial decisions and an over lack of results on the pitch. However, in the last couple of seasons, the team has been on the rise again with the potential to finish atop the league this season. This is the perfect time for a rebranding to put away those years of struggles and usher in a new era of success for Arsenal Football Club. Some iconic parts of the history of Arsenal logos, past and present include; the cannon, shield, and some form of the name "Arsenal" or "AFC" which must be included in the redesign. The direction I chose for this redesign was more modern and sleek, without forgetting about all of the heritage and culture the club have developed over its lifetime. I decided to merge the iconic cannon with the letter "A" to make the design of the logo less crowded by text and have the ability for the logo to work on its own as well as with text under it. The ball added atop the shield references Arsenal as a football club while also giving the logo a unique and easily recognizable silhouette. Finally, the diagonal lines on half of the shield represent the club's desire to move forwards in a positive direction, these lines will also act as a design element which can be used throughout club branding.
