HOW TO: DISMANTLE A MONUMENT

Publication
2020
Inspired by our societal need for accessible, non-judgmental, and factual information, my artistic practice aims to present research through public educational material. This is seen in my past work How to: Dismantle a Monument (2020). This work is not only art, but a piece of written material seeking educational purposes. In the form of an anarchist driven satirical brochure this piece emphasizes disparities in who can access knowledge, thereby providing an avenue towards activist agency. Detailing eleven illustrated steps, How to: Dismantle a Monument plays on the WikiHow format of information sharing by giving the reader basic knowledge of the actual actions required for ‘toppling a statue’.
