Raw: Rethinking Package Design

​Raw is a sustainable sushi packaging design. The goal for this project was to merge the theme of construction/deconstruction with the topic of sustainability. I focused my attention on one of the most wasteful food packaging examples in the market. With an excessive amount of single-use plastics, sushi has always been packaged in a strangely ironic way. Made from fresh and raw resources, sushi should not be packaged any differently. I wanted my new design to mimic sushi rolls in their natural, un-cut state. A tube-like structure is easy to carry, stack and package. I incorporated my theme by allowing for a total deconstruction of the material. Each component of the packaging is either biodegradable or edible.
