The notion of ‘space’ is representative of a ‘potential space’ for the paintings, drawings, objects, and performance that insinuates Melanie Klein and Donald Winnicot’s theory of a ‘potential space,’ through the context of infancy. This theory is applicable to the collective artworks as they’re framed in the setting of a safe space to express oneself (as an adult) through the spontaneity of creation to provide a revoked sense of self through intuitive play, imagination, and authenticity. When we orient ourselves towards the spaces and objects of the sacred—ones we project meaning upon—we’re able to reinvigorate our desires, dreams, and fantasy that hold a key to liberation and transcendence.

“The framed ‘transitional objects’(Winnicott,1971),the typewriter, rats nest, baseboards, vintage storybook, act as thematic signifiers that were organically scavenged for the installation. The painting acts as a tapestry of consciousness meant to resemble a domestic artifact; a personable entity in the painting's nature of accumulation. The canvas exists as a malleable domestic artifact like a bandage, blanket, or apron—one that is vulnerable with its ability to achieve damage or wear and tear.”
