Copper wire, Lights and Ceramic
My objective is to deliver a diverse range of plants, from leafy to floral and vine-based varieties, which emit white light similar to bioluminescence. Material exploration in heat treatments and patinas created colours and textures on the copper, while the wire has been looped and molded into shape, to accomplish an effect of three dimensionality and liveliness. Hidden Arduinos code LED lights to flicker inside the ceramic vases which house the Asiatic lily, English ivy and croton. These plants were chosen due to their familiarity to me and the overall impression they have left.
