“Silhouettes of Memory is a virtual reality experience, and the coming together of my family’s legacy, overcoming the boundaries of time, and of the physical world. This project is the representation of the history behind generations, reflected in a garden in bloom, still with traces of its decaying past.The space portrays an old garden located in a village in Portugal, a place that has seen many generations come and go, and compiled all their memories together, connecting each individual that has passed through.What we hear and see is a mix of reality, memory, and hope, but in this space, they become blended. Silhouettes of Memory combines each person’s connection to the garden. Memorabilia belonging to long lost family members now regains a new meaning, weaving the thread that binds the ones who experience it. My intention was to create a space that alluded to the nostalgia inherent to that garden.”
