From Classical Art: Posters

This project examines historical depictions of women in classical Salon paintings through posters, reproduced to scale using an imperfect gel-transfer technique. The use of cheap materials challenges the mastery of these artworks. The inclusion of red text places the viewer in the position of the female sitters, inviting a reconsideration of their agency and narratives.
