#Self is a study of selfie culture. Synthesizing articles, journals, exhibitions, and interviews into consecutive sequence, #self functions as a physical archive and collection, turning an otherwise discardable digital artifact into a tangible record.The publication investigates the selfie through its evolution from early stages of a digital trend, to a piece of history and an object of social interaction, entertainment, and documentation. #Self was created from a view of selfie culture as a form of research, and a symbol to develop a broader understanding of social practices regarding identity, communication, and belonging.
