Blossoming is a 5 in 1 artwork varying in size that focuses entirety on the materials and layers utilizing different techniques within the labour intensive piece.
“This piece delves into the fleeting moments in dreams and our memories as they serve to be one of the biggest inspirations for artists like myself. This piece explores a lot about my aspirations, thoughts, struggles in thinking of my path after graduation and ideas of an alternate universe speaking more so on a fantasy-like dream basis. The production was very time-consuming and required a lot of patience mainly for the skins and wiring of the flowers and wings as well as the paper layering cutouts. Each has its own sequence of steps and techniques to take note of, taking into consideration how they flow into one another via colour scheme or narrative. The process was a continuous experiment and learning process in how I can make the next better than the previous. Each part of the piece tells a narrative of a figure dubbed as a traveller as I personally like to travel and gain new experiences with covid, reminiscing my past travels is all I can do as of now. Although the title of the piece is Blossoming, the work presents more of a chaotic thought process intertwined with many elements reflecting my feelings as of late reflecting a lot on unpredictability and spontaneous ideas.”
