What do reading and writing, doing the laundry, and cooking have in common? These skills help us achieve a healthy lifestyle and survive in the 21st century. But what about money and credit cards? Too often, these topics are overlooked and underserved, especially for young adults entering their formative years. Credit cards, in particular, are especially notorious. Often misunderstood and intimidating — yet necessary for a successful life — the financial product is plagued with misconceptions and a lack of proper guidance.Enter Demystifying Credit. This app-based onboarding experience, built right into the credit card activation process, is designed to engage young adults and equip them as they step into the world of credit. It simplifies the topic's complexities and delivers essential information about credit cards through interactive content provided at a critical moment.Complexity, jargon, and boredom should not be the giants blocking healthy financial well-being; rather, building a foundation of healthy financial behaviours should be easy and fun. Using these principles, Demystifying Credit sets young people up for financial success — starting with their first credit card.
