This photography project employs an Asian model with pale makeup and artificial banana skins, visually representing cultural disconnection and the struggle for identity among immigrants.
“"Banana" serves as a metaphor to explore the experience of Asian immigrants who feel disconnected from their cultural heritage. While these individuals may appear Asian externally, they may feel a sense of detachment from their roots, much like the white interior of a banana. Although this project focuses on the Asian experience, the concept is relevant to other ethnic groups facing similar challenges of identity and belonging.”
