"A sequence of symbols (or events) in which the next symbol is influenced only by the current symbol and not by any previous symbols in the sequence. The current state of the system provides all historical information relevant to the future behavior of a Markov process. Named after the Russian mathematician Andrei Andreyevich Markov (1856-1922).If a symbol is influenced by "m" of its previous symbols, the chain is called an mth-order Markov chain."Markov chain.
