loudspeakers, image on paper, voice
site-adaptive; durations variable and looping
Two speakers leaning up against a wall speak similar words in unison, causing them to 'fuse'. Another pair of speakers play a stereo field recording, whose's left-side is muted and supplemented with a suitable image on paper. A final single speaker facing upwards emits the voice of writing, as it comes out the fingertips.
“When I made this work I was thinking about how the feeling of an immanent ocular field may relate to the parallelisms of the body, and how these parallelisms are presupposed in language. Some of these devices reoccur in later works like The Intertwining Voice of Contact (2020). ”
