해녀[Haenyeo]: Mothers of the Sea

Installation
This mural is inspired by 해녀 [Haenyeo] the female deep sea divers of Jeju, a subtropical volcanic island located on the southern tip of Korea's peninsula. Often referred to as "Mothers of the Sea," they dive up to 30 meters with no oxygen or diving equipment. Before a dive, prayers are said to the Jamsugut, goddess of the sea, to ask for safety and an abundant catch. As a part of the Wallnoize Mural Jam 2020, located at Coxwell Ave & Lakeshore Blvd East
