“In thousands of societies throughout history, people have sold sex. People will always sell sex regardless of the laws surrounding the subject because people need intimacy and not everyone has direct access to it. “Performing intimacy” is a short documentary that shares the subject Veronica’s experience as a sex worker. It explores her relationship with intimacy and her personal experiences including the benefits and sacrifices of being an escort. Sex workers need to be protected and we can’t do that until they are humanized. I hope when people watch my documentary they question their own prejudices around sex work, because in order for the laws to change we need to change people’s mindsets.”
