Oil and acrylic on canvas, air-dry modelling clay
3' x 1'
The landscape is a river I found with my family when we were hiking one summer. This piece aims to convey emotions through the image itself and the use of the mediums. I have recreated the stacked stones with air-dry modelling clay to add as a 3D element and it is done in oil paint as I think it easily captured the softness of the landscape.
“The river had numerous amounts of stacked stones alongside it and it was calm taking its time. There was a breeze that would make the trees dance every so often. The landscape evoked a sense of serenity, a slowed-down change of reality and a gentle reminder of the existence of others which paths you may never cross, but in shared places like these, we are left to enjoy.”
