We Sinful Women

The project ‘Open Your Eyes’ is a scrolling website developed as a powerful tool to bring awareness to the gender-specific violence that women face in Pakistan. The war on women in Pakistan has spilled many bodies and yet the lack of clear action is evident. This stems from a culture that sustains a misogynistic mindset and values the opinion of society over truth.The weight of this subject was depicted in three parts. Starting from ‘Violence through the eyes of a female, Reinforcing stereotypes, and finally giving power to victims by honouring their names. Based on the poetry work written by Kishwar Naheed and the Contemporary feminist works by Rukhsana Ahmad (1991).
