The concept of imitation learning suggests that the skills we acquire through imitation, such as eating, communicating, and emotional regulation, serve as coping mechanisms when we encounter unfamiliar situations. In this video, individuals use formal learning to make decisions and overcome challenges. “To achieve the goal of creating a paper plane, what decision would you make?”
“It is a video work using the concept of Imitative Learning. Humans learn all the abilities for survival through imitation. Through walking or imitating facial expressions in infancy, imitation becomes more concrete as you age, and complex emotions and behaviors are developed. In the video, participants are instructed to play a tutorial on making an airplane through origami with square paper on an iPad, watch it, and learn. They then distribute the paper in a different shape than the square paper from the video, and instruct them to make the same plane. The shape of the plane they fold is all different, and no matter how much they learn, it depends on their choice whether they fold it the same way. I thought we could avoid the crisis and get enough happiness according to everyone's choice even in a family environment that we couldn't choose from when we were born, and I wanted to express it in a video. The expression "Congratulations," which appears only once in the video, has a dual meaning of congratulations on completing the plane and celebrating the success of learning in any environment, that is, creating one's own life.”
