A Promise Is A Promise

How do promises change when you have more freedom to do what you please? 'A Promise Is a Promise' is an undated letter that reflects a mix of commitments I've made to myself and my parent. The rediscovery of this archive as an adult evokes memories of both simpler times and repetitive resolutions that remain unfulfilled. I am still not a morning person.
“A direct copy of an undated letter, titled “A Promise Is a Promise,” presents a candidly innocent example of promises made to oneself and one's parents. The inclusion of trivial and inconsequential promises, such as frequently logging into Webkinz, serves as a reminder of simpler times. As an adult, the promises within feel empty, like repetitive New Year's resolutions that have gone unfulfilled. Some are a matter of self-acceptance- I am still not a morning person, and that's alright.”
