Four Corners
Digital Media
2020
Inspired by our cabin fever during the first year of the pandemic, fellow graduate Josh Igwe and myself developed Four Corners; a game about the perceived diminishing returns of our hobbies as we were forced to repeat the few activities available to us throughout lock-down.
“Four Corners allows the player to explore their room during lock-down, confined to the four corners that have become their entire world. As they play mini-games such as reading, playing the drums, and playing video games, the boredom bar that is steadily rising is reduced. The more the same activities are repeated, the less boredom is cured each time, causing the boredom bar to inevitably fill up and end the game. There is no escape from boredom when confined to your four corners. In development, I took on the role of world building-building: modeling, texturing, lighting, and baking assets in Blender while Josh took on the game development work in Unity.”
