Urban Laneway Village: Building Social Connection

My project aims to alleviate the housing shortage in Toronto and combat societal disconnection caused by technology. By transforming garages into interconnected laneway houses and public facilities, this ‘urban village’ concept will promote community bonding in downtown Toronto. Residents of diverse ages and backgrounds will engage in shared activities like childcare, communal farming, and crafts making, fostering a revitalized sense of community while providing innovative housing solutions
