Permanent Blue is a 2D animation about a girl wandering in her inner world who has depression. The title is a fictional name of pigment: as its name is also readable to ‘a depression persists on eternity.’ Being isolated from the odd space, she gets scared then her skin turns pale, but soon absorbed into the strange world by the endless roam asking herself- “Am I in the real? Hallucination? Or am I dreaming?” The girl faces forward only at the beginning and the end to invite you to the inside of her. At the very end, she closes her eyes again and falls into an emotional slump, again. This animation has a biographical theme which the artist experienced in the past or maybe in the future. The animation intends to visualize the artist’s inner space, which is consists of realistic figures and abstract, surreal background, with the intention of assimilating the audience into the same experience of emotion that comes from being unfamiliar, disparate, and abnormal space.
