Juice is intertwined yet somewhat adjacent to my main thesis body of work, having been fabricated with the goal of being presented alongside my main thesis pieces. My plan was to cast approximately 25 testosterone bottles in bronze, each representing the 25-ish weeks I had been taking a low dose of testosterone to further my transition to a more gender-neutral presentation. By giving these “low status” objects significance, I wanted to explore the ways in which trans bodies are both objectified and demonized within cis/heteronormative society.
