“A series of sketches done over a set of postcards. The original designs were produced in a postcard coloring collection designed by William Morris (a British textile designer who lived in the 1800’s), as I was covering up the original designs, I thought about the irony of finding this postcard collection in Nassau Morris was known to be a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. And so, as it follows, my artistic response in the act of covering them with my own designs acts like a sort of reclamation of the natural land that was wrongfully claimed and ties into the resilience of the natural world to always recuperate.”
