The Nanjing Massacre was the mass murder of Chinese civilians by the Imperial Japanese Army in Nanjing, Civilians were brutalized and assaulted, leaving countless dead after the city was burned. It is estimated 300K+ died. In Japanese folklore, the tengu is considered the most evil and powerful yokai, even being considered a god. A type of mischievous supernatural being, sometimes considered the reincarnated spirit of one who was proud and arrogant in life. Tengu are renowned swordsmen and are said to have taught the military arts.
