Disposable Material
This project suggests an urgency in our dire situation, threatening humanity's health. We seem to forget or not care about the effects of our problem-solving on the environmentaround us. Prioritizing our well-being over the ecosystem.

“The amount of plastic, styrofoam and cardboard we dispose of every day is mindblowing.During the 2020 quarantine and lockdown, there was lots of great news aboutenvironmental improvement. For instance, in Italy, “Within days of the lockdown, Venetiansbegan sharing photos that showed fish visible in the lagoon, which usually has boats churning upsediment from the water bed.” (1).Unfortunately, this improvement didn't last long since thelockdown finished. The capital companies and individuals purchased thousands of disposablemasks to provide their employees with safety. Referring to the waste-free ocean's online article,it takes 450 years for a disposable mask to go out of the system. (2)I have chosen to use disposable materials like plastic and disposable masks to make art.I am hoping my project encourages others to create a new use for disposable materials.Work Cited1 https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/16/europe/venice-space-satellite-images-canals-scli-intlscn/index.html2 https://www.wastefreeoceans.org/post/plastic-masks-take-450-years-to-decompose-innature(Links to an external site.)”
