See Thru Ur Eyes II
Painting
2025
Acrylic on raw canvas
16x9"
A painting of a selfie of my reflection in my brother's sunglasses. The act of taking a photo with a phone is an embodied experience, from the decision to document a moment to the physical gesture of tapping the shutter button, and the same applies to the act of screenshotting. My phone camera has become an extension of my brain and my eyes; I use it to see, think, and remember my life. The embodied gesture of the image is then amplified by my hand as I paint it, intertwining the digital image with its physical representation, and the simultaneous embodiment of both digital and physical self in action.
