wool thread
When COVID-19 broke out, the number of confirmed cases in each country exploded every day. When we pay attention to the daily diagnosis data, can these cold numbers remind everyone to take this serious situation seriously? The numbers in the statistics are sometimes too cold and unfamiliar to us because what we are facing is only a cold number. And when we pass data on COVID-19, we don’t just report data, we use data to warn people that the world is in a grim time. For this concept, this project includes a complete 3D data visualization installation. It records confirmed cases in China in 2020, from the beginning of February to the end of August. In order to convey the COVID-19 situation to people more intuitively and emotionally. I used a lot of intertwined wool threads in this installation. Not only are they long enough to show people intuitive data comparisons and the severity of the epidemic, but their intertwined state can also show the global situation that has become dangerous due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
