"Avoiding conflict" is akin to light refracted in water - even if someone becomes aggressive towards it, it will steer the conversation elsewhere.Conflict is like a heated metal stab into the water, very strong and aggressive. And the water is inclusive and tolerant to clam it down.If you flip the image you will see a boat instead of a knife.
