I Served My time, Now What?

Graphic Design
2022
I Served My time, Now What? Is a project about providing advocacy and awareness for people with TBI. This is a population that is overwhelmingly prevalent in experiencing incarceration in Ontario’s prison systems during COVID-19.

“My sincere appreciations for the research of Dr. Flora Matheson, Dr. Catherine-Wiseman Hakes, Katie Almond, and many others, for bringing in their important academic and front-line expertise into my research. This is a two-part project. The first part of the project is about writing a policy guide that provides observations and statistics. The facts in the policy guide are mostly based on scholarly resources, government data, and Subject Matter Expert interviews. It strives to Illustrate the current landscape of Traumatic Brain Injury, incarceration, and its co-morbidity with COVID-19 in a Canadian context. The guide also strives to consolidate information from various government and non-government resources on TBI and Incarceration. The second part of the project is a postcard project that is about providing awareness for people who are incarcerated in Canada. These postcards are distributed in public areas, allowing people to have them for free and be able to use them with their friends and families. These postcards are intended as a conversation starter to a difficult issue. The postcards feature attention-grabbing cartoon-styled designs, alongside a few summary points on TBI. ”
