“This piece is inspired by the landscape of my ancestral homeland and the memories of the family that tie me to it. Layers of acrylic pours, gels, and washes express the fluidity of memory as they adapt to take their own forms on the canvas. A deep, earthy color palette mimics the aged quality of the photographs that were taken by my Grandmother during her travels. The process behind this work was a continuous search to capture my personal connection to my grandmother and the mountainous French landscape of La Mure.”
