Recreating a space from home where family history can be relived and long lost stories are shared. Items were collected, donated and ethically sourced to create this installation.

“Ritornando a Casa, in English means returning home. This artwork is centered on my Italian family roots and my exploration of my Italian heritage. As a second generation immigrant, I often feel lost and disconnected from my Italian culture. The hands featured in this piece belong to my family members, and are the most typical gestures they do on a daily basis. The mantle holds not just the hands, but photographs displaying generations of my family, while an old film is played in the fireplace. This space provides a sense of nostalgia, and reflection to people when they walk in. I invite them to sit and stay a while, look through my past and learn with me.Photos captured by @bbyblufilm”
