Too Far VR

Digital Media
2022
"Too Far" is a VR experience that simulates a campfire scene, allowing the user to roast and eat a marshmallow. The time and distance from the fire dictates whether the marshmallow will be cooked or burnt, and when it is burnt, the surrounding forest goes up in flames. This demo shows the basic functionality of the VR experience, but the full version will be developed to have textures taken from real roasted marshmallows, and a narrator guiding through the experience. Due to the lack of time, the functionality was focused on as a proof of concept.

“Too Far is an analogy about the Goldilocks zone for life on Earth, and how just a slight difference in temperature would make the planet uninhabitable. It is a reflection on climate action and the emotions around having "gone too far" in our quest for comfort, convenience, and progress.
