Installation - Conversation with Self

In this Installation, we want to explore interactivity through physicality and theatricality.A monologue, in either direction, is not a conversation. So do conversations require for at least two people to be engaged in a dialogue or can we expand on the idea of hearing yourself? We want to capture the inner dialogue that happens when you are left with self. Who are those voices, who have control over them, and what happens when they take a physical form? By blurring the boundaries between virtual and physical through performance, we introduce to you two conversations, six storylines and a finale. We chose a dining table as our set up to showcase people coming together and having conversations. With this idea, we hope to convey the physical and theatrical interactivities between the actors, the physical environment and the virtual.What are the challenges that come up when an artist becomes a part of the live installation? We can rehearse the performance, but we can never predict what the audience reaction in the moment would be, the unknown is thrilling. Even though the performance is scripted, we hope the audience will walk away with their own perspective on “Conversation with Self”.
